Product information: Acrylic is an accessory brand established by Masako Ban. Originally, Masako Ban is an educated architect who worked for Shigeru Ban, one of Japan’s most recognized architects (who now is her husband). Acrylic's minimalist design is based upon the traditional Japanese philosophy, and uses old techniques developed by craftsmen in Kanazawa, Japan. Acrylic is the winner of the Wallpaper* Best Jewellery Design Award in 2007. 

The lacquer part is handmade by a craftman in Kanazawa, Japan, with a special technique to give a subtle arched top surface. The combination of acrylic and lacquer might sound unusual, but Japan has the long tradition of using lacquer on acrylic, and it is considered as good as lacquered wood. This product is the result of the work by skilled craftsmen with the ability to create long lasting and tasteful artifacts. The acrylic part is made of laser cut materials and the edges are very smooth, which can only be achieved by knowledgeable hands in Kanazawa. The materials are carefully selected, and handmade with precision by skilled craftsmen in Kanazawa,Japan.
